Getting to campus
The University's main campus is located in the suburb of Parkville, just north of Melbourne's central business district. When planning your journey to the University of Melbourne, there are a number of options available to you.
Information centres
From the University of Melbourne tram terminus (see below for public transport information to plan your journey to the University), the University Information Centre is a short, 50-metre walk up Swanston Street. Please cross over Monash Road at the pedestrian lights and follow the blue information dots on the side of the Richard Berry Building to reach the Information Centre.
If you are a future international student (see What type of student am I?), you may like to visit the International Centre, also located on Swanston Street. The International Centre is located south of Monash Road, in the John Smyth building, next to the Sidney Myer Asia Centre.
By car
Parking on campus is only available with a permit. There are a number of paid parking structures close to the University.
Public transport information

Bus
Three bus services take you to the doorstep of the University of Melbourne.
The bus stop for these services is outside the Arts Centre of the University of Melbourne on Swanston Street:
- 205: Melbourne University — Doncaster Shoppingtown (via Kew Junction & Bulleen) (timetable)
- 546: Heidelberg — Melbourne University — Queen Victoria Market (via Clifton Hill & Carlton) (timetable)
The bus stop for this service is outside Gate 10 of the University of Melbourne on Grattan Street:

Train
The closest train station to the University is Melbourne Central Station. Please exit Melbourne Central Station and take the escalators to Swanston Street where you can take any north-bound tram to reach the University of Melbourne tram terminus. (Metropolitan train timetables)
