Entry standards and prerequisites
You are eligible for entry in an undergraduate course at the University of Melbourne if you have:
- successfully completed the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or an equivalent qualification;
- completed each of the prerequisite subjects for the course and any prerequisite tests or auditions (see Course Search for details);
- achieved the required marks in each of the prerequisite subjects (see Course Search for details);
- achieved the minimum ENTER for the course (with the exception of Access Melbourne applicants); and
- met the English language requirements.
Entry scores for Australian students
Academic standards have been set and detail minimum ENTERs for nearly all undergraduate courses for Australian applicants undertaking VCE or another Australian Year 12 program in 2008, provided prerequisite studies and any other specific course requirements are met.
For Australian applicants, the standard required for entry (the Clearly-in Rank) may be above the minimum ENTER, depending on the demand for the course and the number of places available. Only Access Melbourne applicants may be admitted to a Commonwealth supported place below the minimum ENTER.
