Canadian financial aid
Canadian citizens wishing to study at The University of Melbourne are able to access a range of student financial aid that is delivered through the Federal or Provincial based funding programs.
The University of Melbourne does not administer or calculate eligibility for financial aid for Canadian students. The University confirms program information and enrolment details and completes Canadian Customs and Revenue Agency Taxation Certificates on behalf of Canadian students. However, all decisions concerning eligibility are made by the granting body.
All Canadian students are advised to check the amount of Commonwealth or Provincial funding available to them prior to their commencement at the University of Melbourne. It is a student's responsibility to ensure they can cover the full cost of tuition and living expenses for the full duration of their studies.
Further information for Canadian and dual citizens on student loans, and access to online applications, is available here.
Note for newly enrolling students
Before the University of Melbourne can certify documentation to assist with the approval of your loan, your offer must be unconditional, and you should have completed and returned your Payment and Acceptance Agreement form, which you receive with your unconditional letter of offer.
You should include a deposit of AUD$10,000.00 and payment for your compulsory overseas student health cover (OSHC) as outlined in your letter of offer.
Certification of Loan and Taxation Forms
Please ensure that you have completed and signed the student/borrower sections of any forms that require certification. Please leave any sections to be completed by the school official blank. You will need to allow at least three working days for the completion of any documentation requiring certification.
