Engagement: Dr Priyan Mendis (Civil Engineering) was involved in organizing a conference in Sri Lanka 2010 on Civil Engineering issues between the University of Melbourne/ Peradeniya and Moratuwa universities. Professor Jo Lo Bianco is providing advice to the Sri Lankan Government on bilingualism. Prof Salman Halgamuge (Engineering) is a frequent visitor to Sri Lanka and has links with a number of tertiary institutions. Professor Harry Minas of Psychiatry is involved in a number of post tsunami projects related to trauma and recovery.
