Obtain an ATAR increment – IB students

International Baccalaureate (IB) students completing Extension Program studies can attain an ATAR increment and in this respect their results are treated in a similar manner to that of VCE students. The key difference is that the IB score is based on six results, so the increment to the Notional ATAR is necessarily calculated differently.

Although we don’t yet have details for 2012 IB Extension Program results, as a guide we can advise that in 2011 the International Baccalaureate Combined Rank and Notional ATAR Table will be used and an increment will be made directly to the Notional ATAR, depending on the IB score and the Extension Program ‘pass level’ achieved, as shown in the table on the VTAC website.
