“I chose University of Melbourne because of its reputation as a leader in education and its global outlook, but most importantly because I was not treated just as a number but a postgraduate international student with many questions whose emails were answered graciously and in a very timely manner. The University has excellent staff who are very accessible and incredibly knowledgeable. The environment is very good and very friendly with a range of students from different cultural background. There are so many facilities available here, the only thing is to ask for it, and you will get it.” |
“I was apprehensive about adjusting again to student life but settled down wonderfully. Molecular biology and genetics is new to me. It was difficult at first, but my classmates and supervisors really helped. I have learned a lot, acquiring new skills much needed in Bhutan. Melbourne was chosen because they responded promptly to my enquiries. I'm glad I came.” |

“A PhD is something that I never imagined myself doing until I began my courses here. The passion for the subject felt by my colleagues and professors, as well as the amazing level of interaction and camaraderie between master, PhD students and members of diverse faculties have inspired me to continue my academic career.” |
“I chose the University of Melbourne because of its prestige. I knew that it was one of the best and oldest universities in Australia. The fact that it was in the city of Melbourne was also a big factor in deciding to come here. I had heard that the city was very beautiful and had friendly people from many different nationalities living there — it is all true.” |
