Joann Cottle from Peru

Joann says her experience
at Melbourne so far has been
well beyond her expectations.

A highlight for her has been
playing hockey, through which
 she has met lots of fun people.

"Just come, you'll love it.
 Social life is great as you get
to meet people from everywhere.
There are sports and cultural events
for all tastes, the city is safe,
public transport and general traffic
is well organised and the food is good;
nothing like Peruvian food, but there's
a great variety of Asian food.
Definitively worth coming
all the way from Peru!"

Joann chose the University of Melbourne
because of its prestige - and hockey.

"I started researching the University
of Melbourne and asking about the city
and only got positive comments from
teachers and friends, so that helped
my decision. I looked it up on the
internet and was really impressed by it."
