Elite Athletes and Artistic Performers Entry Scheme

The University encourages international, national and state representation in sports and artistic performance and recognises the positive alignment that elite training and participation has to the University’s academic mission.

This Entry Scheme provides for additional consideration to be given for entry into degrees at the University of Melbourne by applicants who:

  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa; and
  • Are recognised as an elite athlete or performing artist by one of these organisations; and
  • Meet the prerequisites (and any other published entry requirements) of the course; and
  • Can demonstrate that they have undertaken elite training, competition, performance and/or practice commitments whilst preparing for entry to the University of Melbourne.

Please note:

  • Applicants will not be eligible for the Entry Scheme if their performance activity is associated with the degree to which they are applying (for example, elite musicians applying for the Bachelor of Music).
  • For more information refer to the University of Melbourne’s Selection and Admission Policy (MPF1295).
