Campuses and Facilities

The moment you step foot on campus, you’ll know you’re in a special place.

Our main campus is in Parkville, only a few minutes from the very centre of Melbourne. It’s a beautiful mix of historic sandstone buildings, contemporary architecture, sustainable design and stunning outdoor spaces that are a perfect place to sit and catch up on your readings.

The Southbank campus hosts the Victorian College of the Arts and part of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. It offers purpose-built teaching and performance facilities for arts training, and is centrally located within Melbourne’s cultural and arts precinct, sitting right alongside the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Theatre Company.

Our other Victorian campuses specialise in forest ecosystem science, agriculture, horticulture, rural health and veterinary science and are situated in Burnley, Creswick, Dookie, Shepparton and Werribee.

You’ll have access to the most up-to-date teaching and learning methods and facilities. Our eLearning studios are designed for collaborative work in small groups and are equipped with the latest technology. We have learning spaces specifically designed for particular disciplines, such as the Engineering Learning Lab, which supports group and collaborative work, and the Law Moot Court, which trains future lawyers to present their cases using the latest technology.

"Real industry experience."

Alisha D’Souza, a Bachelor of Commerce graduate and current Master of Engineering student, has completed two internships at Shell Australia as part of her Melbourne experience.

“My first internship role was as a financial analyst in the commercial office, and my second role was as a chemical engineering intern at their oil refinery in Geelong,” she says.

Her internships certainly paid off: Alisha has already secured a role with Shell as a graduate engineer once she completes her masters.

Volunteering allows you to take your skills into the community and contribute to a cause you are passionate about – and make a difference! You can volunteer in Melbourne or overseas, and in many degrees your experience will count towards your degree (in place of a regular classroom-based subject). We even offer awards and grants to help you finance your volunteer work.

Your teachers

Melbourne is consistently ranked among the top research universities in the world. But what does that mean for our students?

It means that, from day one of your degree, you will be taught by experts at the forefront of their field. Your lecturers and tutors are engaging in research into breast cancer risk genes, Australian racial politics and nutritional engineering. They are passionate, brilliant, and dedicated to sharing their insights and discoveries with you.

You'll be supported
