English language programs
Applicants who do not meet the English language requirement for direct entry may consider an Academic English Program or may be eligible for the University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program (UMELBP).
English Language Bridging Program
Hawthorn-Melbourne is endorsed by the University of Melbourne as the sole external provider of the University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program (UMELBP).
Hawthorn-Melbourne has been providing students with English language training for more than 25 years. It offers a range of high-quality programs to help you meet the University’s English language requirements and prepare you for study in Australia.
The UMELBP provides a direct English language pathway from Hawthorn-Melbourne to specific courses at the University of Melbourne. This 10-week program recreates authentic academic activities aimed at developing English language and study skills.
All undergraduate courses and many graduate courses accept the UMELBP as a pathway option.More information about the English Language Bridging Program

Foundation programs have been designed in collaboration with Australian universities to create a curriculum the bridges secondary and university studies. The University of Melbourne accepts a large number of foundation studies programs as entry pathways to our undergraduate courses.
Trinity College Foundation Studies
Trinity College Foundation Studies (TCFS) has helped students make a successful transition from school in their home country to the University of Melbourne for over 20 years.
Graduates of Trinity College Foundation Studies are guaranteed a place in the University of Melbourne course of their choice if they satisfy the prerequisites and meet the required scores.
